Business Understanding Report — services, ICP, market position, growth baseline for The Pixel Hues.
The Pixel Hues | Revised June 2026
This is the v2 of the strategy. The original v1 framed Pixel Hues as a corporate-experience / museum studio. After client confirmation that the real battlefield is event agencies + government museums + government content creation, and that Tagbin and Tagglabs are the true competitive set, the strategy has been rebuilt around three lanes. v2 supersedes v1 wherever they conflict.

| Name | Role | Strategic role |
|---|---|---|
| Ajay Pillai | CEO | Primary BD face for event agencies + government accounts; LinkedIn primary. |
| Alok Pandey | CTO | Technical authority for projection + software; should do technical POV content and event-tech demos. |
| Inna Khosla | CCO | Creative authority; ideal for WOW Awards case-study write-ups and award-submission craft. |
| Shivam Negi | Technical Lead | Implementation authority; great for on-site case-study breakdowns. |
| Sanjay Mishra | Marketing/Dev Lead | Internal marketing owner; needs the playbook this engagement delivers. |
⚠️ Naming caution: "Alok Pandey" is a common Indian name. A senior SRE with that name exists in our memory bank — different person, do not conflate in outreach or content.
| Lane | What it means | Buying motion |
|---|---|---|
| A. Event Agencies | Wizcraft, Percept, Cineyug, E-Factor, Teamwork, Maximus, etc. — agencies that win brand activation RFPs and subcontract the immersive-tech scope. | Project-by-project, fast cycle (2–6 weeks), relationship-led. |
| B. Government Museums & Heritage | ASI sites, state museums, national museums (Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya is the gold standard), defence museums. | Slow tender-led (GeM / CPPP / state e-procurement), high-trust, cert-heavy. |
| C. Government Content Creation | Ministries, G20-style events, summit content (Netaji hologram, Har Ghar Tiranga — Tagbin's lane), embassy content, state government events. | Tender + direct commission; CMO/CM level sponsorship matters. |
Lane A is the volume lane (recurring, brand-building, awards-eligible). Lane B is the moat lane (slow but high-value, government-trust, references compound). Lane C is the prestige lane (visibility, ministry-level work, the kind of case study that changes Pixel Hues's whole market position).
Cross-cutting credibility: WOW Awards Asia is the industry's gold standard. Tagglabs won 5 WOW Awards in 2025 in Experiential Tech. Winning or even being a WOW Awards finalist changes Pixel Hues's commercial position overnight.

| Tier | Per project | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | ₹5–15 L | Single booth projection / activation |
| Mid | ₹15–50 L | Multi-zone brand activation / 1-room museum gallery |

| Mega | ₹10 Cr+ | Bespoke flagship (Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya scale) |
| Competitor | Founded | HQ | Headcount | Revenue | Lane | Threat to Pixel Hues |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tagbin (tagbin.in) | 2013 | Gurugram (Gurugram + Delhi + Bangalore + Dubai + Singapore) | 150–300+ (founder cites ₹500 Cr+ Group) | ₹160 Cr+ | B + C (government museums, govt content, summits) | VERY HIGH — owns the lane (PM Sangrahalaya, NITI Aayog, G20, Netaji). Their moat: ISO 27001/9001/27701/20000/22301 + CMMI Level 5. |
| Tagglabs (tagglabs.in) | 2011 | Gurugram | 50+ | ₹6 Cr+ (likely grown since 2021 disclosure) | A (events + brand activations + lifestyle events) | VERY HIGH — owns the events lane. Won 5 WOW Awards 2025 in Experiential Tech. Founder Hariom Seth is a visible industry voice. |
| Competitor | Lane | Threat |
|---|---|---|
| Wizcraft (wizcraft.co) | A (events) | Massive legacy agency; if Pixel Hues partners, opportunity. If competing, hard to displace. |
| Percept | A (events) | Same as Wizcraft. |
| E-Factor (Shiva Immersive arm) | A (events + immersive) | Recently launched "Shiva Immersive" sub-brand — direct competition for the events lane. |
| Maximus Events | A | 6× WOW Awards 2025 winner — high-velocity, well-credentialed events agency. |
| Cineyug | A | Mumbai premium events. |
| Teamwork Arts | A | Literature festivals + cultural events. |

| ExperientialEtc | A | Hologram + sensors + projection. Mumbai. |
| Player | Role |
|---|---|
| EventFAQs Media (in.eventfaqs.com) | Industry B2B media platform — target for editorial + awards, not a competitor. |
| WOW Awards Asia (asia.wowawards.com) | Industry awards — target for entry, not a competitor. |
| Christie / Epson / Panasonic / Barco | Projector vendors — target for partner programme. |
| EEMA (Event & Entertainment Management Association) | Industry body — target for membership + events. |
The original v1 gaps (broken SEO, empty portfolio, no case studies, no outbound motion) all still apply — but now they hurt harder because Tagbin and Tagglabs have set the quality bar:
| # | Action | Effort | Owner | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Fix homepage title + meta description | 10 min | Sanjay | "Projection Mapping & Interactive Installations for Events, Museums & Government | Pixel Hues" |
| 2 | Set up Google Business Profile + Bing Places | 1 hr | Sanjay | Local SEO baseline |
| 3 | Install GA4 + GSC + HubSpot CRM + verify | 2 hr | Sanjay | Phase 8 stack |
| 4 | Audit & roadmap ISO 9001 certification (minimum) | 2 hr | Ajay | Block government RFPs without it |
| 5 | Audit & roadmap ISO 27001 (cyber + data) — government RFP gate | 2 hr | Ajay | Same |
| 6 | Write 2 flagship case studies (BMW + HCL — already in portfolio) | 8 hr | Inna + Shivam | Foundation for credibility |
| 7 | Submit to WOW Awards Asia 2026 in 2 categories (use existing BMW/HCL work if dates fit) | 4 hr | Inna + Ajay | Industry credibility badge |
| 8 | Get listed on EventFAQs agencies/vendor directory | 1 hr | Sanjay | Industry visibility |
| 9 | LinkedIn refresh for Ajay + Alok + Inna — updated heads + summaries | 2 hr | Founders | Founder-led BD foundation |
| 10 | Publish 1 LinkedIn founder post | 30 min | Ajay | Kick off content cadence |
| 11 | Build lead magnet: "The 2026 India Event-Tech Vendor Buyer's Guide" | 4 hr | Sanjay | Replaces v1's generic guide with event-agency-specific |
| 12 | Build vendor partner outreach list (Top 30 event agencies) | 4 hr | Sanjay + Ajay | Replaces v1's corporate focus |
| 13 | Draft government tender response template | 4 hr | Ajay + outsourced consultant | Bid readiness |
| 14 | Hire part-time government-sales consultant (ex-IES/IFS retd.) | 2 weeks | Ajay | Lane B+C unlock |
Total effort: ~35 hours + 2 weeks for the consultant hire. This single month unlocks the events lane AND unlocks government bid-readiness.
(From v1 — still true.)
1. Proprietary Pixel Mapper software — if it works on event-grade speed, it's a real moat.
2. End-to-end stack — film → install → software. Few competitors in events lane do all three.
3. Delhi base + Scindia House address — same building as Everything Experiential (Eventfaqs Media office) — accidental adjacency to the industry's nerve centre. Walk over and say hi.
4. Senior leadership accessibility — boutique studios win enterprise by being founder-led.
5. 5-year operating history — small but proven (HCL, BMW, Whirlpool, VISSCO on the wall).
6. Now: event-agency partnership as the wedge — agencies like Spectrum AV and Ideation AV are existing clients; extend this partnership model to event agencies.
